Do you think hopping on a video call is essential for closing high-ticket clients, or can deals be closed effectively over the phone? Since I'm younger, I'm concerned being on camera might negatively impact my sales cycle. If video calls are necessary, what platform do you recommend for those closing calls?

Do I think video calls are necessary in order to close a high-ticket client? Yes, I basically do. Not necessarily — obviously you can buy a Tesla through Apple Pay nowadays and you don't need a video call for it. But the vast majority of people will not want to spend a large amount of money with you unless they can verify who you or your organization is through something like a call. It's also very difficult to sell somebody on a very high-ticket product unless you are physically there to walk them through things like last-minute objections and so on. People will very rarely spontaneously want to spend, say, $20,000 on some sort of knowledge or info product — at least in my niche anyway. So unless you have somebody that's with them and can help them out and sort of coach them, the probability of them signing is very low. What platform would I use for this? Just Google Meet or something.

Nick, can you sell high ticket without a webcam or a mic?

You can, but it's very difficult. High‑ticket sales usually require a call because people buy from people, especially when the lifetime value is $25k‑$30k. My low‑ticket Maker School model works because I avoid sales calls, which keeps it highly scalable and lets me maintain 90%+ margins. That model breaks down around a $5k LTV, where one‑to‑one calls become necessary. If you're young and not taken seriously, partner with someone older who can handle the front‑end while you do backend fulfillment.

What screen share software did you use for the kickoff call?

I always use this screen share software called Loom. It's a little Chrome extension you can download. It's currently taking this from my MacBook camera, but basically puts a little bubble in the bottom left‑hand corner. After you're done recording a video, you get a link. With that link, you could send the video to anybody and have them open it without having to download it. That's one of the main benefits of Loom. It's one of the reasons why it's so valuable. Do you earn more by selling automation? The AI school community is pretty soon going to be like nine times as much from my school communities and my one‑on‑one coaching and my offers. So I mean it's overwhelming at this point but keep in mind that the amount of money I make with my um AI automation agency is still, you know, most people would consider it reasonably large about 25k a month. It's about because I'm also now starting to get referrals. So, like I think uh probably bump this up about 4K this month just in the referrals that I've been sending out. So, I don't know. You can call that like 30k if you want.

Can you upload your intro sales call video, hiding client identity?

Of course hiding client identity would be interesting and helpful. I actually do this and make money with Make. I have one or two intro sales calls. Honestly, that's a big point of the value of joining my programs—me showing you stuff like that. I feel like a lot of people are asking me to put all this super deep stuff online for free, but I don't like gatekeeping knowledge. However, the risk-to-reward would be unnecessarily large. One reason people don't do this is because nobody actually shows sales calls; there's a fair amount of liability if something gets found. For example, I've revealed two email addresses in past videos, which is tough because clients might look you up and find a recording of your voice. It's different in a paid program with a limited number of people who respect you and where you don't make a big deal of it. But yeah, I'll be real: there's just a lot of liability. I do have a couple of actual sales calls where I do this and make money with Make. So do whatever you want with that. Everything is obscured and anonymized—super anonymized.
