What's your end goal with everything?

I came up with the idea of accelerating the transition to a more efficient economy about eight months ago, and I feel I've made a little bit of progress toward that. With 200,000 followers watching my long‑form content, the leverage is insane—if even 1% of them work with businesses, each might serve 10 to 100 businesses over their career, impacting 100 to 1,000 customers each. If we can improve those experiences by just 5% through automation, I'm already having a substantial effect on the global economy. While I like making money, it's not my primary goal; it's probably in my top five. Ultimately, I want to be a positive force for change in the world in my own way.

What are you going to do after Maker School?

There is no ‘after Maker School.’ The program will continue indefinitely, essentially becoming part of our daily accountability system. We’ll eventually upload Maker School to your cortex and turn it into an AI that slowly dominates the economy. I’ve been thinking about what I’ll do once the AI boom fades. I’ve been capitalizing on the AI boom, and when market opportunities shift, you have to pivot. I don’t suffer from shiny‑object syndrome; my partner and I chose an industry that matched our skill set and stuck with it for years. We take a measured, sniper‑rifle approach and pre‑commit to getting really good at it. As for my personal finances, I’m mostly investing the money I’ve earned in money‑market funds and ETFs. Ultimately, I want to use my resources to have a positive impact on people’s lives, perhaps through a small, close‑knit community with in‑person events rather than chasing the biggest revenue‑optimizing solutions.

How do you think about how you want to be remembered outside of externally-weighted indicators of success, and how does that shape what you're pursuing?

I love that we're moving to more meaning-based questions — it looks like a lot of people here who've had success following the business and automation content are now at the point of asking 'what the hell is all this for?' The fact that I've helped people get to that point is basically the answer to the question for me. I want to be remembered as the sort of person who helped catalyze people's best selves. The monetization is nice, and yeah, the $500K/month goal is part flashy because it gets clicks — people go 'whoa, isn't that half a million a month' — so it is in my interest, but it doesn't meaningfully impact my life at this point. What meaningfully impacts my life is the meaning of what I'm pursuing; the things I do day to day aren't necessarily financially related. I want to be remembered as somebody who gave far more than they consumed, as a net positive impact on the world, and also as a good partner and a good man — somebody who stood up for the right thing.

What do you usually do with all the money you make? Could you spend it on some guilty pleasure like cars or just invest it?

I do make a significant amount of money—around $300,000 per month—mainly from the school games (third-party revenue) and another community. I earn far more talking about the stuff than actually doing it, which is typical for an information product: leverage comes from teaching others, allowing them to achieve 100x results while I earn proportionally. What do I do with the money? I don't have guilty pleasures like cars; I invest it. I have friends aiming for tens or hundreds of millions in the S&P 500, but that's never been my primary motivator. When I was broke, an extra $10,000 a year would have dramatically improved my quality of life; now, extra millions don't materially affect it unless you have extreme comfort needs. I'm thankful my family immigrated from Eastern Europe around the fall of communism; they lived frugally, teaching me that a fulfilling life doesn't require a lot of money. Though I now make what most would consider a lot of money, I still find life enjoyable and fulfilling without needing wealth.

What does entrepreneurship look like after AI and automation make selling your own work less viable? I hate the idea of being forced to become an influencer. What does that mean for you and what will you teach people to make money?

I think the fear of becoming an influencer is based on a vague idea of what an influencer is. I don’t want to be an influencer in the traditional sense, but influencing is essentially acquiring attention, and attention is the primary commodity today. We’re trying to capture seconds of attention from many people and channel it into some shared resource—video, platform, whatever the future holds. Right now being an influencer isn’t the most valuable thing; working on AGI in a big research lab probably is. When AGI arrives, influencing may become the number‑one activity for most humans, creating new jobs that are more about entertainment and status. I don’t know exactly what I’ll be doing in five years when small‑business problems are solved, but I’ll keep building a platform to influence people and distribute value.
