I'm confused about which AI service to choose — I have a client onboarding system for marketing agencies and a hiring pipeline for recruitment agencies, and I've scraped a lot of businesses in these niches, but I'm uncertain whether my service is actually valuable to them or will get them results.

You're thinking way too much. Stop thinking and start doing — you've been stuck asking this same kind of question for the better part of three or four weeks. This isn't a problem you need to be struggling with; you can answer it yourself in the next week just by putting your services in front of people. Don't worry about whether your service is valuable to them — that's an opinion you're generating in your own head, and it's usually wrong. Instead, go ask a bunch of people and let the market tell you.

I’m selling AI websites to local businesses with good response but low perceived value; should I switch to an AI automation agency for higher value, despite lacking case studies and needing to target bigger clients?

Start by giving value up front: build a landing page for each prospect, show it to them, then offer to build the full website (or revisions) as a paid service. This lets you demonstrate value, increase reply rates, and later upsell AI automation. You can create many landing pages daily using AI tools (e.g., Claude Max) for little cost, then move clients into higher‑ticket automation services.

Nick, I'm considering offering or selling AI to businesses. I want to start to some small businesses before aiming for bigger clients. How would you tackle this given they have different needs and situations or problems? Do you build a setup per business or do we build a set of services that could work like a general AI service? Also, for approach, direct messaging or in person.

Don't overthink the exact method—pick a few approaches and test them. Choose three different ways of reaching people, set a minimum daily outreach for each, and stick with it for a month or two (30‑60 days). See what works, then double down.

Is selling broad AI implementation tailored to each business valuable, or should I niche down into specific solutions like marketing and use AI within those?

If you’re making $0‑$20 k per month, keep selling broad AI implementations and use AI to create the perception of a highly customized service. Once you want to go beyond that revenue level, you need to productize and template your offering; that part of the market hasn’t changed even as AI models have advanced.

I want to sell business AI implementations to help businesses save time and maximize earnings. How would you pitch it, and who is an ideal customer?

In general, the best niches for an AI service are high ticket, so these are services that themselves get a lot of money when they close a deal. They also tend to be digital, meaning services that you can scrape online fairly easily. And finally, they tend to be really low compliance need — services that don't require you to check a bunch of HIPAA boxes or do a bunch of SOC 2 compliance in order to enter the space. The reason why: high ticket means if you get them a single client, you pay for yourself for a long time. Digital means it's really easy to scrape, so low friction. And low compliance needs means you're not going to screw anything up — there are a lot of hidden risks that people constantly consider before accepting a project with an outside vendor if they are in a compliance-heavy industry.
