Could you make a video for complete beginners with no social media presence to get started in automation services?

I’ve already done this a couple of times. Check out my video on how to get started or acquire your first automation client for free – that's the one you want to watch. It's only about 60 cents now.

Can you make a video with practical steps to start an automation business for freelancers or solo agency owners? I’m confused by all the content out there.

I’ve actually recorded a video that answers that exact question, and I’ve been publishing a new video on the topic every day for the past six days. Right now I’m focused on funnel‑building and trying to reach as many people as possible, so you’ll see a lot of repeated content. Think of it as me consolidating the most important points you need to know to be successful in this niche, rather than just shouting at you. Check out the recent videos for a step‑by‑step guide on launching an automation business as a solo agency owner.

Jack Burke-di asks: As a total beginner with zero programming background, what path should I take to become proficient enough to sell automation services? What concepts should I learn first, and what key things do I need to get familiar with? I've been watching your videos and using Make resources but retain little because I don't understand the terminology.

Here's exactly what I recommend: go to nicksmake.com/playlist. It will take you to Make.com, a no‑code platform that's the simplest and easiest to get up and running with—just drag and drop modules across the screen. You already know what Make.com is, so I won't explain it. My playlist walks you through everything you need to know to actually make real money with the platform, not just academics but how to take the various tools and sell them. That's where I'd start. A couple of key things to be familiar with: I also recommend a video called '80% of automation basics in less than 30 minutes' (though I misspoke earlier; it's actually '80% of automation AI basics'). In that video I cover the main concepts: using APIs, webhooks, prompt engineering for AI, and test‑driven development. If you get those two resources, you'll probably be good. I don't recommend watching all 60+ hours of my Make.com videos; just the first 10‑15 should suffice.

Which videos do you recommend I start watching first to set up my agency?

I’d start with the 80 % of AI automation basics in under 30 minutes—watch the ‘AI Automation Basics’ video. Then move on to my full Naden course or the Make.com Nick’s Archive playlist. Those will teach you the automation skills you need. The 80/20 approach gives you the basics quickly, and remember that automation is just a business like any other; once you learn how to build an AI automation business you’ll do most of the work with a few simple tools.

What should I learn to get started with automation and making money as a beginner?

Yeah, that's fine. My recommendation is to join my school if you want to learn how to make money with this stuff. Start with the Make.com playlist I put together—it’s over 60 hours of video guiding you from start to finish, even if the audio is a bit rough. Walk through the first dozen videos to get comfortable, then keep going. If you’re still unsure, consider joining the school and putting yourself in front of customers; the more you do that, the faster you’ll learn.
