What hardware and software are you using to record your videos?

I record with a Sony A7 III (and sometimes the A7 C) paired with a light bar. I use an XP‑Pen tablet for drawing, a Samson Q2U microphone, and the Auphonic service to clean up the audio. For on‑screen annotations I use Presentify on macOS. The camera is high‑end but not required; you can get decent results with cheaper gear.

What software do you use to record your videos?

I record with OBS Studio, using a Sony A7C camera for video and a window‑capture setup. I have multiple scenes – a main camera view, a screen‑share overview, and a blurred screen‑share for confidential info.

What screen recording software do you use for these videos, including corner picture, picture-in-picture switching, and on-screen writing with a tablet?

It's called OBS Studio. I use it to record my screen; it creates an infinite window effect because I'm recording a screen that's recording a screen. I have two scenes: a talking head/full face scene and a bottom-right corner scene, switched via hotkeys (though my hotkeys are broken today). For writing on screen, I use Presentify, which I bought for $10, and I use my tablet like a mouse.

What stylist and tools are you using to draw and record video?

I normally use a small tablet next to me with an XP pen, which turns a pen into a mouse so I can draw on the screen, paired with software like Excal or Lucid Spark. I also use an app called Presentify that I launch with Command; holding Control and pressing A lets me draw or annotate the screen. It’s a handy setup. Thank you very much—running a $3 million‑a‑year business with a team of five.

What’s your setup to record these videos?

I record with OBS Studio (Open Broadcaster Software) using a Sony A7C camera, a big softbox light, and a Samsung Q2U microphone. I have two OBS scenes: a talking‑head full‑face view and a screen‑share view with me in the bottom‑right corner. I export the OBS recording directly and upload it without additional post‑production.
